Great Gatsby Wedding at Hawkstone Hall – Sophie & Dan

“The photos are absolutely incredible! We’re honestly blown away. We feel so lucky to have had you there.”- Sophie & Dan

Sophie sent me that message not long after I delivered their previews, and I don’t mind admitting I had the biggest smile on my face when I read it.

I’m still thinking about Sophie and Dan’s Hawkstone Hall wedding. It was one of those days that had so much style, so much energy, and so much personality. The kind of wedding that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.

If you’ve never been to Hawkstone Hall, it really is such a special place. It has this incredible sense of grandeur, but it never feels cold or too formal. There’s so much character everywhere you look, from the long corridors to the gardens, and the way the light moves through the building is just unreal. It’s the kind of venue that works so well for a wedding that feels elegant but still full of life.

And that was exactly what Sophie and Dan created.

Their Hawkstone Hall wedding had this subtle Great Gatsby feel running through it. It felt glamorous and beautifully considered, but never in a way that felt too much. Nothing felt forced. It all just felt like them. Sophie had such a calm, understated elegance about her all day, and Dan brought such a warm, easy energy that made everyone feel relaxed straight away. Together, they made the whole day feel really special.

There were so many moments that stood out to me. The ceremony in the chapel had that quiet, intimate feeling where everything else seems to disappear for a minute. Later on, everyone spilled outside for the drinks reception, and the evening light was so soft and beautiful. Then the party started, and everything shifted in the best possible way. The dance floor was full, people were really letting go, and it had that brilliant joyful chaos that makes a wedding so much fun to photograph.

That’s what I loved most about this Hawkstone Hall wedding. Yes, it was stylish, but it also felt relaxed, emotional, and full of life. Nothing felt overly polished or put on. It just felt like a really good day, with everyone fully there in it.

Sophie and Dan, thank you so much for having me there. Thank you for trusting me, for making me feel so welcome, and for throwing one hell of a party.

If you’re planning a Hawkstone Hall wedding and want photographs that feel elegant, natural, and full of life, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
