"We are over the moon with our wedding photos! From the first time, we met him and throughout the wedding day, James was friendly, approachable and polite, making a special effort to get to know not just us but the bridal party as well by name. His approach made everyone feel at ease, and he was flexible and attentive to our preferences and wishes. On the day, he struck the perfect balance of taking photos of the bridal party and guests without being intrusive. He went above and beyond to capture the important events of the day (as well as some more artistic, candid moments) to ensure that we were happy with the final results. He was unflappable, patient and seems to enjoy the day almost as much as we did! The photos themselves are stunning - James captured the full range of portraits and activity shots really well, which accurately portrayed the joy and celebration of the day. We couldn’t recommend him highly enough and will be to our friends and family!"- Pete & Suzie
I was so excited to be asked to photograph Susie and Pete’s wedding at The Hospital of St Cross in Winchester. Not only are they a hugely fun couple who I knew would host an epic wedding, but it is also my wife's hometown so Winchester holds a lot of special memories for me. Susie and Pete really didn’t disappoint with all they had planned for the Hospital of St Cross wedding! I photographed both of them getting ready in the morning and one thing that was so apparent is that they are both so generous. Pete with his letters to his groomsmen and Susie with her gifts to the bridesmaids, you could really tell that they treasure their friends and family a lot.
The Hospital of St Cross
This historic venue was such a brilliant choice and suited Pete and Susie down to the ground. Their ceremony was held in the beautiful norman church and they filled it with laughter and joy throughout. Their friends and family had done such an amazing job with the decorations for the day as well. The setting was just idyllic for Pete and Susie to make their vows. Before the reception, we didn’t have to wonder far to find an epic setting for their couple portrait photos. The grounds of The Hospital of St Cross are made for moments like these, with the hills of Winchester rolling in the background. Pete and Susie were their usual fun and enthusiastic selves, much like when we did their engagement session. They are the best subjects for natural wedding photography as they are just that- natural and themselves in front of the camera. They had planned a few treats for their guests in the evening and I was ready and waiting with my camera. The starter was a choreographed dance between the two of them, followed by a main course of a wedding party flash mob to Punjabi MC. And to round it all off, they kicked off a ceilidh for dessert. It’s a wonder that they had any energy left by the end of the day! No complaints from anyone though, the entire wedding had such a blast and certainly won’t forget the party that Pete and Susie threw for quite some time!
